Mizoram on Monday reported 519 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest single-day spike since January 25, taking the state's tally to 2,06,319, an official said.
Mizoram reported 1,324 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 173 more than the previous day, pushing the tally to 2,05,800, a health department official said. The state's coronavirus death toll rose to 643 as one more patient succumbed to the infection in the last 24 hours, he said. The northeastern state had reported 1,151 coronavirus cases and one death on Saturday. The fresh 1,324 cases detected from 5,193 samples put the single-day positivity rate at 25.49 per cent, he said. Mizoram now has 9,400 active COVID-19 cases. A total of 1,95,757 patients have recovered from the infection so far, including 668 in the last 24 hours, he said. The recovery rate among coronavirus patients is 95.12 per cent, and the death rate is 0.31 per cent. The state has so far tested more than 17.93 lakh samples for COVID-19. According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalmuanawma Jongte, more than eight lakh people were inoculated till Saturday, and 6.42 lakh of them have been fully vaccinated.
Both Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh were given statehood on this day in 1987.

The death toll rose to 640 with a six-year-old girl from Aizawl succumbing to the infection at Zoram Medical College (ZMC), he said. As many as1,871 people have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 1,92,093. The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 95 per cent and the death rate is 0.31 per cent, he said. The single-day positivity rate increased to 25.83 per cent from 23.56 per cent on the previous day, the official said. The northeastern state now has 9,473 active COVID-19 cases. Mizora has so far tested more than 17.78 lakh samples for COVID-19. According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalmuanawma Jongte, over 8 lakh people have been inoculated till Wednesday and 6.40 lakh of them have been fully vaccinated.

Beginning with Mizoram, the Centre on Thursday launched a Mobile Covid testing facility for Northeast India.
Mizoram on Thursday reported 1,054 new COVID-19 cases on -- 174 more than the previous day -- taking the state's tally to 1,49,492, a health department official said. This is the second time after three months the state reported over 1,000 cases in a single day. On Tuesday, the northeastern state had recorded 1,513 cases. The toll remained unchanged at 564 as no new fatality was reported in the last 24 hours, the official said. The single-day positivity rate dipped to 15 per cent from 20.36 per cent the previous day, he said. Aizawl district reported the maximum number of fresh cases at 299, followed by Khawzawl at 178 and Serchhip at 160, he said. Mizoram currently has 7,397 active cases.
