IIT Mandi start up to launch world's first AI-backed giant swing in Manali

Four engineer friends have claimed to have innovated a giant swing backed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) which will provide an "impeccable" security to the jumpers with more than 100 jump styles. The swing was built under a startup incubated at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mandi, and is claimed to be a first-of-its-kind in the world. Founded by four childhood friends who are also certified rock climbers and mountaineers, ManaliSwing' has completed its human jump trials and is in the process of filing patents -- five in number -- for concept and design. The team plans to launch the swing in Manali on coming New Year. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will on Monday visit flash flood and landslide hit areas in Mandi district, officials said. Twenty-two people, including eight members of a family, were killed and twelve others injured in 36 incidents of landslides and flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh on Saturday. The chief minister's home district Mandi is the worst hit where 13 people have died and five persons are feared dead as they went missing.
