6 killed, 4 injured in van-truck collision in TN; CM orders solatium to kin

Six men were killed and four others were injured on Wednesday near here when the van they travelled in hit a container truck and Chief Minister M K Stalin ordered a solatium of Rs 1 lakh to the kin of each of the deceased. On hearing about the accident, Stalin deputed Minister for MSMEs, Tha Mo Anbarasan to rush to the spot and render all assistance, an official release here said. The CM ordered best treatment to those injured and ordered a financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the families of each of the four men who were killed in the accident. Expressing grief, Stalin conveyed his condolences and sympathies to the families of the deceased. The mishap occurred in Chengelpet district in the small hours of December 7 and the passengers were returning to Chennai from Tiruvannamalai. Three of the accident victims were between 28 and 33 years of age and a man was 70-year old and two others were aged 55 and 65. The Chief Minister said the State-level expert and high level committees are working towards providing technology based framework that would enable the differently-abled persons in government and private sectors to work independently without support. Stalin launches new initiatives in his constituency, lays foundation stone

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Wednesday inaugurated completed projects in his Kolathur constituency in the city and laid the foundation stone for various initiatives. The CM laid foundation stone for projects worth an estimated Rs 38.98 crore, an official release said. Among others, he inaugurated a hostel building and a renovated badminton court. He played badminton with students there and gave away sports equipment to them, it said. Mamata Banerjee calls on M K Stalin, says development bigger than politics

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called on her Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin here on Wednesday and said development is bigger than politics. TN CM writes to PM on Parliamentary panel's 'Hindi for jobs' proposal

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday staunchly opposed what he called a Parliamentary panel's "recommendation" that for specific jobs, aspirants should have learnt the Hindi language. Writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Stalin referred to media reportage on a report of the Parliamentary Committee on Official Languages.
