Covid: 5,339 new cases in Karnataka, 48 deaths; positivity rate 4.14%

Karnataka on Wednesday reported 5,339 new cases of COVID-19 and 48 fatalities, taking the tally to 39,12,100 and toll to 39,495. There were 16,749 discharges today, pushing the total number of recoveries to 38,11,615, a health bulletin said. Of the new cases, 2,161 were from Bengaluru Urban that saw 6,883 people being discharged and 16 virus-related deaths. The total number of active cases across the state is now 60,956. While the positivity rate for the day stood at 4.14 per cent, the case fatality rate (CFR) was 0.89 per cent. Of the 48 deaths, 16 are from Bengaluru Urban, Dakshina Kannada (5), Ballari (4), Chitradurga and Tumakuru (3), Dharwad, Kolar, Mandya, Mysuru, Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada (2), followed by others. After Bengaluru Urban, Tumakuru recorded the second highest number of cases with 342, Belagavi 327, Mysuru 293, Shivamogga 185, Ballari 173 and Mandya 158. Covid-19 pandemic: Karnataka reports 4,452 new cases and 51 deaths

Karnataka on Tuesday reported 4,452 new cases and 51 fatalities, taking the tally to 39,06,761 and toll to 39,447. There were 19,067 discharges today, pushing the total number of recoveries to 37,94,866, a health bulletin said. Of the new cases, 2,139 were from Bengaluru Urban that saw 8,604 people being discharged and 17 virus-related deaths. The total number of active cases across the state is now 72,414. While the positivity rate for the day stood at 5.01 per cent, the case fatality rate (CFR) was 1.14 per cent. Of the 51 deaths, 17 are from Bengaluru Urban, Dakshina Kannada (7), Kolar and Tumakuru (4), Ballari and Mysuru (3), Chitradurga, Dharwad and Udupi (2), followed by others. After Bengaluru Urban, Belagavi recorded the second highest number of cases with 352, Mysuru 222, Tumakuru 221, Dakshina Kannada 146, Shivamogga 122, Hassan 103 and Dharwad 102. Covid-19 pandemic: 6,151 fresh cases and 49 deaths in Karnataka

Daily COVID-19 infections in Karnataka declined to 6,151 on Monday, taking the total positive cases to 39,02,309, according to the health department. The cumulative fatalities stood at 39,396 as the state reported 49 deaths, the health department said. The data shared by the department showed that 99,254 tests were conducted today, whereas the state had been conducting over one lakh tests ever since the outbreak of the third wave of COVID-19. The state had reported 8,425 fresh infections on Sunday. On Sunday also the state had tested 1,29,337 samples including 99,023 RT-PCR tests. In its daily bulletin, the department said 16,802 people were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 37,75,799. Active cases stood at 87,080. Bengaluru urban district reported 2,718 infections and 15 deaths. Covid: Karnataka reports 8,425 new cases, 47 deaths in last 24 hours

Karnataka on Sunday logged 8,425 fresh COVID cases and 47 deaths taking the total caseload and fatalities to 38,96,158 and 39,347 respectively. In its bulletin, the health department said 19,800 people were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 37,58,997 while the active cases stood at 97,781. Bengaluru urban district alone contributed 3,822 fresh cases and 17 deaths today. Other districts too saw fresh infections-- Mysuru 582, Tumakuru 318, Hassan 276, Ballari 249, Mandya 241 and Belagavi 221. There were deaths in 16 districts including seven in Ballari, five in Dakshina Kannada and three in Mysuru. There were zero fatalities in 15 districts. The positivity rate for the day was 6.51 per cent and the case fatality rate was 0.55 per cent.
