Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) is upset with the Odisha government for delay in allotment of land contiguous to its 15 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) crude oil refinery at Paradip. The oil marketing company, in February 2017, had asked for an additional 2290 acres of land to commission different units of its petrochemical complex where fresh investments could cross Rs 50,000 crore.But close to a year of its online application, land is yet to be alloted to IOCL. The company's chairman Sanjiv Singh has urged the state government to allot land on priority."Plans are afoot to implement a world scale PC-PTA plant at Paradip. Setting up a Pet Coke gasification project is also being conceptualized. These new projects would involve large investments and help plastic as well as textile industries grow in the region. >Oil marketing company Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) has identified Gopalpur Industrial Park of Tata Steel as a possible site for setting up a common user facility in Berhampur. Tata Steel is the anchor tenant for the park where it has invested Rs 542 crore on a ferro chrome project with an annual capacity of 55,000 tonnes per annum "We have sought land from the state government for setting up a common user facility in Berhampur. The government has requested us to take land at the Goplapur industrial park of Tata Steel for which we have done a feasibility study. But, no decision has been taken yet as more sites are also being explored", said an IOCL official.IOCL requires about 100 acres of land for the common user facility proposed for supply of kerosene, diesel and petrol. Oil marketing major Indian Oil Corporation ltd (IOCL) is set to complete its proposed Paradip-Durgapur LPG pipeline by March 2018."The Paradip- Balasore section of the project will be commissioned by September this year. It will be the first such pipeline that will transport LPG in the state from the Paradip refinery", said P C Choubey , executive director, pipelines division, IOCL. The cost of the Paradip to Balasore section of the project is pegged at Rs 200 crore.The project with capacity of 0.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) envisages laying a pipeline for transportation of LPG from Paradip and Haldia to the LPG bottling plants at Balasore, Budge Budge, Kalyani and Durgapur. Total length of the pipeline is estimated to be about 700 km and entails a cost of Rs 913 crore.Earlier, the LPG delivery at Balasore was done through bullets.Similarly, IOCL aims to complete its Rs 2321-crore Paradip Hyderabad pipeline project in the next 36 months.
