McLeod negotiates with investors to monetise assets, infuse fresh capital

As part of the restructuring with secured lenders, debt-laden McLeod Russel India Ltd is in the process of negotiating with "multiple investors" to monetise assets and infuse fresh capital, but these talks are still in the fluid stages and nothing has been finalised, an official with the bulk tea major said. The final third credit rating of the company, which was delayed due to the Covid pandemic, is likely to be submitted by January 10, the official said. The BM Khaitan family, the existing promoters of McLeod Russel, however, still remain hopeful of retaining the management control of the company that produces 73 million kg of tea from a few dozen of gardens mostly in Assam and also in Africa and Vietnam. UP to hold roadshows across states to attract domestic investors for summit

The Uttar Pradesh government will hold roadshows in the states to attract domestic industrial groups for its Global Investors Summit to be held next year, according to an official release. The state government recently sent a group of ministers on a global tour to invite foreign investors for the summit and seek investment in the state. The release said that investment commitments of Rs 7.12 lakh crore, including of Rs 4 lakh crore from the UK and the US alone, have been received ahead the Global Investors Summit to be held in February next year. After the return of the group from global tour, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanth has directed holding road shows in different states of the country for inviting investors of the country, the release said on Friday. NeoGrowth raises Rs 300 cr from Dutch lender FMO, existing investors

Small businesses-focused fintech player NeoGrowth has raised Rs 300 crore from Dutch entrepreneurial development bank FMO along with existing investors. Of the fresh equity capital, Rs 160 crore has been pumped in by the Dutch lender, NeoGrowth said in a statement on Thursday. The money will be used for on-lending and entering new markets, it added. NeoGrowth is also backed by Omidyar Network, Lightrock, Khosla Impact, Accion Frontier Inclusion FundQuona Capital, IIFL Seed Ventures Fund, WestBridge, and Leapfrog Investments. It has Rs 1,600 crore of assets under management and is connected with over 1.5 lakh MSMEs. So far, it has disbursed over USD 1 billion in loans, said MD & CEO Arun Nayyar. BSE adds 10 million investors in 148 days to reach 120 million-mark

Leading stock exchange BSE on Tuesday said it has added 1 crore registered investor accounts to its platform in a span of 148 days, taking the total count to 12 crore. The exchange added one crore investors' accounts between July 18 and December 13, BSE said in a statement. In comparison, the exchange took 124, 91, 85 and 107 days for the previous milestones of 11 crore, 10 crore, 9 crore and 8 crore, respectively. "BSE crossed the milestone of 12 crore registered users based on Unique Client Code (UCC) on December 13, 2022," the exchange said. Of the 12 crore users, 42 per cent fall in the 30 to 40 age brackets, followed by 23 per cent in 20-30 years and 11 per cent in the 40-50 age bracket. In terms of states, Maharashtra leads in terms of investors with a share of 20 per cent of the total 12 crore investors. This was followed by Gujarat at 10 per cent, Uttar Pradesh at 9 per cent and Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu at 6 per cent each. The exchange did not specify how many of these ..
