Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) on Saturday reported an 8 per cent decline in total sales at 4,82,756 units in September. The company had posted total sales of 5,26,866 units in the same month last year, HMSI said in a statement. Domestic sales in September this year stood at 4,63,679 as against 5,00,888 units in the year-ago month. Exports were at 19,077 units as compared to 25,978 units in September last year. Commenting on the sales performance, HMSI Director Sales & Marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria said, "We are gaining back the momentum with each passing month witnessing a rise in customer enquiries." Stating that the coming few months will be decisive in determining the growth forecast with the year's most awaited time of festivals just around the corner, he said the company's network across India is all geared up and ready.

The company had sold 245,716 units in the same month last year when sales were impacted by coronavirus-induced lockdown. Exports stood at 16,000 last month, HMSI said in a statement. The company said it closed FY21 with total sales of 4,073,182 two-wheelers, including domestic sales of 38,65,872 units and exports of 2,07,310 units. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) on Thursday said it has crossed the cumulative sales milestone of 70 lakh units in north India in its 20th year of operations in the country. The company, which hit the Indian market in 2001 with its scooter model Activa, said it took 15 years for it to touch the first 35 lakh cumulative sales mark in north India -- comprising Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Chandigarh -- but doubled it in just 5 years. Commenting on the milestone, HMSI Director Sales & Marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria said the company's first factory became operational in north, in Haryana in 2001. Japanese auto major Honda on Tuesday made the global premiere of its mid-sized motorcycle, CB350RS, priced at Rs 1.96 lakh, which will go on sale in India from next month (ex-showroom pan India). Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) on Wednesday reported 2 per cent decline in its total sales at 4,43,969 units in August. The company had sold a total of 4,52,551 units in the same month last year. Domestic sales last month stood at 4,28,231 units as against 4,25,664 units, a growth of 1 per cent, it said adding this was the first time in the ongoing fiscal that its domestic sales breached the 4 lakh units mark. Exports during the month stood at 15,738 units as against 26,887 units in August last year. The country's second largest two-wheeler maker Honda Motorcycle on Tuesday said its BS-VI versions of Activa scooter and a brand new bike SP 125 have cumulatively sold over 60,000 units. While the BS-VI model of Activa was launched in September and is available widely across the country, the brand new bike SP 125 was launched on November 20, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said. It can be noted that beginning April 1, only BS-VI models will be sold as the country pushes to cut carbon emissions from automobiles. From the new fiscal, all the fuels sold in the country will also be of low in carbon and sulphur as the government decided to skip BS-V and jump straight from BS-IV emission norms.
