IT, BPM firms to see increase in hiring intent in next six months: Survey

With IT and business process management (BPM) sectors witnessing a slump in hiring in September due to margin pressures, a study has revealed that 51 per cent respondents believe that there would be an increase in hiring intent in the next six months. However, around one-third (34 per cent) respondents said there is going to be a decline in the hiring intent, while 15 per cent believe that it would be business as usual, according to the CIEL HR study. The study is based on an online survey of 10,00,000 employees working in top 50 IT/BPM companies operating in India. During the pandemic years, IT companies had hired massively to address the surge in demand driven by the wave of digital transformation across the globe, it noted. Now that the demand has subsided, the companies are 'rightsizing' again, it said. Majority of employers in services sector keen to hire in Q3: Report

A majority of employers in the services sector are keen to expand their workforce in the third quarter of this fiscal, according to a report. Around 73 per cent of employers are eager to increase their resource pool this quarter, according to TeamLease Services 'Employment Outlook Report for Q3 (October to December 2022) for the services sector. The 'TeamLease Employment Outlook Report' is based on a survey of 579 service companies in 14 cities across the country. The report further stated that in the services segment, the key sectors expressing a higher intent are information technology (96 per cent), educational services (95 per cent), e-commerce and allied start-ups (92 per cent), telecommunications (90 per cent), retail (79 per cent), financial services (78 per cent) and logistics (75 per cent). As the demand for services has increased post the pandemic, large firms (79 per cent), medium-sized firms (45 per cent) and small firms (57 per cent) have all mustered a strong hiring .

Employers likely to engage more apprentices in 2nd half of this yr: Report

A significant percentage of employers are likely to increase their apprentice pool in the second half of 2022, as companies look at leveraging apprenticeships as the key source of talent, says a report. According to the Apprenticeship Outlook Report for H2 (July-December 2022) by TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship, 77 per cent of employers are likely to increase their apprentice pool in H2 2022, which was 45 per cent in H2 2021. The Apprenticeship Outlook Report is based on a survey among 789 employers covering 12 cities and 24 sectors capturing the appointment sentiment for the period HY (July to December) 2022. The report further revealed that out of 24 sectors, employers across 12 sectors have improved their Net Apprenticeship Outlook (NAO) by 10 per cent or more for the time period. HCL Tech to hire 1,300 people in Mexico over next 2 yrs, to open 6th centre

IT company HCL Technologies plans to hire 1,300 people in Mexico over the next two years, according to a statement. The move is expected to strengthen its current employee base of 2,400 people in that country. HCL Tech outlined its expansion plans in Mexico at its 14-year anniversary celebration at Guadalajara, in Mexico and said "the company expects to hire 1,300 people in the next two years". The IT firm will also be opening its sixth technology center in Guadalajara. The new center will significantly expand its presence to serve its growing local and international client base across industries and will focus on creating next-generation digital solutions. "In line with the company's hybrid operating model, the center will embrace an agile workplace," the statement said. Goldi Solar to invest Rs 5,000 cr to raise module manufacturing capacity

Gujarat-based Goldi Solar is planning to invest Rs 5,000 crore by 2025 to expand its module manufacturing capacity to 6 gigawatt, the company's Managing Director Ishver Dholakiya said on Monday. At present, the total module manufacturing capacity of its plants in Pipodara and Navsari, Gujarat is 2.5 gigawatt (GW), Dholakiya told reporters during a press conference here. "We have plans to infuse over Rs 5,000 crore as part of expansion plans to increase module manufacturing from 2.5 GW to 6 GW," he said while launching HELOC Plus (high-efficiency low on carbon) module series with Heterojunction technology. The renewable energy business expansion will be channelled into auxiliary production, including aluminium frames, junction boxes, backsheet, etc, Dholakiya said. India's hiring outlook remains strong with 54 per cent of companies planning to hire in next three months amid predictions of growth opportunities for developing countries in the wake of ongoing geopolitical conflicts, says a survey. According to the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey released on Tuesday, the labour market is indicating strong sentiments for October-December 2022. The survey is based on interviews with more than 40,600 public and private employers across 41 countries and territories to measure anticipated employment trends each quarter.
