AIIMS Delhi to launch 'Mission Recruitment' to achieve near-zero vacancies

AIIMS-Delhi will launch 'Mission Recruitment' to achieve near-zero vacancies by September 2023. Director of AIIMS-Delhi Dr M Srinivas, in an office memorandum, said it is noted that a few sanctioned posts at the premium institute are currently vacant. "To enhance coordination between the examination section, recruitment cell and faculty cell, and to ensure timely filling-up of existing and new vacancies, it has been decided to launch 'Mission Recruitment' at AlIMS, New Delhi," the memorandum issued on April 5 said. Under this mission, AIIMS-New Delhi shall target to achieve a "near-zero" vacancy position by September 2023, it said. For this purpose, Professor Rajiv Narang has been designated as the chief coordinating Officer and shall be responsible for actively following up on the vacancy status and the action being taken thereof with the faculty cell, recruitment cell and examination section. An action-taken report shall be submitted on a weekly basis, the memorandum stated.

IAF receives over 94,000 applications under Agnipath scheme in four days

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has received 94,281 applications under the Agnipath recruitment scheme within four days of the registration process getting underway on Friday. After the scheme was unveiled on June 14, violent protests against it rocked several states for nearly a week and several opposition parties have been demanding its rollback. "A total of 94,281 Agniveer Vayu aspirants have registered till 10:30 am (Monday). Registration closes on July 5," Defence Ministry Spokesperson A Bharat Bhushan Babu said on Twitter. Till Sunday, the IAF had received 56,960 applications under the scheme. Under the scheme, the government had said youths between the ages of 17-and-a-half and 21 years would be inducted for a four-year tenure, while 25 per cent of them will be subsequently inducted for regular service. The government had on June 16 increased the upper age limit for recruitment under the scheme to 23 years from 21 for the year 2022, and subsequently announced a slew of placatory

A day after industry leaders backed the Centre's Agnipath scheme, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said they should "walk the talk" by first employing already retired soldiers. Yadav, who is the leader of opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, alleged that the scheme has been rolled out to train the youth to "secure" industrialists. He also asked the ruling BJP to release a list of the supporters who will be sending their children to the armed forces under the initiative.
