G20 presidency: Rann of Kutch to host first Tourism Working Group meet

As part of India's G20 presidency, Gujarat will host the first Tourism Working Group (TWG) meeting at Dhordo Tent City in Rann of Kutch from Tuesday, officials said. The three-day TWG meeting, which will be attended by Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, will be the second G20 event in the state after the 'Business 20 Inception' programme held in Gandhinagar last month, an official statement said. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will attend the TWG meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday, his office said. On the first day, delegates will get a chance to visit the White Rann of Kutch, followed by a cultural programme showcasing the rich heritage of the region, while an event focusing on 'Rural Tourism for Community Empowerment and Poverty Alleviation' will also be held, as per a government release. Land degradation, biodiversity loss, marine pollution, need for protection of mangroves and coral reefs, resource overconsumption and lack of waste absorption are the key environmental concerns which will be addressed in India's G20 presidency, the Union environment ministry said on Monday. G20 meeting in Patna slated in early March postponed to June: Official

A G20 meeting in Patna which was earlier slated to take place early March has now been planned to be held in June, according to a senior official. India assumed the presidency of the influential bloc on December 1. Over 200 meetings are planned to be hosted at 55 locations across the country. "A meeting of G20 was earlier scheduled to be held in the first week of March. But, the date has now been changed, and it is planned to be held sometime in June," a senior official of the Bihar government told PTI. The G20 meeting in Patna is to be held on the labour track, and several delegates are expected to take part in it. Meanwhile, various state government departments and district administration are gearing up for the key event in the Bihar capital, sources said. The venue for the meeting in Patna has not been decided yet, they said. India will try to forge consensus on roadmap to regulate crypto at G20: DEA

Amidst turmoil in crypto currencies market, India is working with the Financial Stability Board (FSB) so that a consensus on a roadmap for regulating virtual assets could be agreed at during India's G-20 presidency itself, Economic Affairs Secretary Ajay Seth said on Thursday. India as assumed G-20 presidency for 2023. The G20 is a premier forum for international economic cooperation that plays an important role in global economic governance. In an interview to PTI, Seth said that an IMF paper on crypto assets was discussed among emerging economies on January 15 and 16 in Delhi. "We had a one-and-a-half day workshop. Thereafter, they are drafting a paper for a seminar, which will be conducted on the sidelines of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meeting in Bengaluru that is scheduled on February 23," he said. G20 two-day meet: Participants discuss debt, multilateral development banks

A two-day meeting of the G20 International Financial Architecture Working Group concluded here on Tuesday with participants discussing issues pertaining to strengthening multilateral development banks and how to address challenges associated with debt.
