IndiGo's Kannur-Doha plane diverts to Mumbai due to technical issue

An IndiGo plane flying from Kannur to Doha was diverted to the airport here on Friday due to a technical issue. The airline said the flight 6E-1715 was diverted to Mumbai as a precaution. "The operating crew noticed a technical issue and diverted the aircraft to Mumbai for necessary maintenance. The passengers are being accommodated on an alternative aircraft for their onward journey," it said in a statement. According to a senior DGCA official, the aircraft was diverted due to a hydraulic leak. Kannur is in Kerala. Details about the number of passengers onboard the aircraft was not immediately available.

Delhi to Doha flight takes off from Karachi after emergency landing

Over 100 passengers who were on a Qatar Airways Delhi-Doha flight which made an emergency landing in Pakistan's Karachi on Monday due to technical reasons, have taken off in a relief flight for Doha, the airlines said.Qatar Airways provided an update of the flight which had landed in Karachi's Jinnah International Airport. "Passengers on the diverted flight to Karachi, QR579, have now departed on a relief flight & will land in Doha at 4.15 PM local time where they will be assisted with their onward connections. Doha Bank plea on resolution of Reliance Infratel upheld by NCLT

The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has upheld the petition of Doha Bank seeking priority payment for the financial creditors of Reliance Infratel which will lead to around Rs 3,515 crore recovery for the lenders, according to a source aware of the development. The payment has to be made from a payment of about Rs 4,400 crore realised from sale of assets to a Reliance Industries Ltd ( RIL) subsidiary through NCLT-driven debt resolution process. According to the source, State Bank of India will receive Rs 728 crore, Mahima Mercantile Rs 514 crore, SC Lowy Rs 511 crore, VTB Capital PLC Rs 511 crore, Doha Bank 409 crore, Emirates NBD Rs 322 crore, ICBC Rs 278 crore and Standard Chartered Bank will get Rs 242 crore. "Reliance Infratel will also get Rs 455 crore towards the equity and Working Capital needs from RIL subsidiary. Forget Doha, oil demand could create another super-cycle by 2030

While talks among major producers to cap oil output in Doha fizzled, investment advisory firm Sanford C Bernstein & Co sees a silver lining: growing demand may bring one more super-cycle that allows investors to cash in on rising prices. They'll just have to wait a decade or so.Emerging market economies will increase global oil demand about 1.4 per cent a year through 2020, stronger than the past decade, Bernstein analysts including Neil Beveridge said in a research note e-mailed today. Demand will peak between 2030 and 2035, creating a window for one final spike in prices before the fossil fuel begins its inexorable slide to irrelevance amid greater fuel efficiency and more electric vehicles.
