Delhi L-G inaugurates 41 science labs at 21 schools renovated by NDMC

Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena on Saturday inaugurated 41 science laboratories equipped with advanced infrastructure and resources at 21 schools renovated by the NDMC, according to an official statement. The inauguration ceremony was organised at New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)-run school Atal Adarsh Bengali Balika Vidyalaya at Gole Market here. After inaugurating the science laboratories, Saxena congratulated 6,700 students studying at 21 NDMC schools. "It is an era of science. Without science and scientific temper, no step forward for socio-economic and human advancement could be envisaged," he said. The NDMC statement said the LG hoped these labs will become "crucibles of experimentation and innovation" and evolve as milestones in the field of education not only in the NDMC area but throughout Delhi. Deshbhakti module strengthening children to be successful in life: Sisodia

The 'Deshbhakti' curriculum in Delhi government schools is giving strength to the children to be successful in life and inspiring them to focus on their careers, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Friday. Sisodia was on a visit to a government school in RK Puram on Friday to assess the impact of the curriculum on children. This was his third consecutive visit to a government school in the last three days. "Many children have shared that the Deshbhakti class is also giving them the inspiration to prepare better for the exam and work diligently on their careers," he said. The Delhi government's ambitious curriculum was launched on September 28, 2021, by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. As part of the curriculum, children meditate for five minutes and then think about any five patriots every day. Thereafter, they share their thoughts with their classmates, Sisodia said.

Arvind Kejriwal to inaugurate Delhi model schools scheme in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu government is all set to inaugurate on Monday the Schools of Excellence and Model Schools Scheme, which is broadly based on schools in Delhi with upgraded infrastructure. In an event to be held at the state-run Bharathi Women's College, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would launch the scheme here in the presence of his Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin. Delhi Model Virtual School gets 800 applications; may extend last date

The newly launched Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) has received around 800 applications for admission and is likely to extend the last date to apply, an official said. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday launched DMVS, claiming that it was 'India's first such platform' where students from across the country will be eligible for admission. Refuting the AAP leader's claim, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), however, said the first virtual school has already been launched in the country by the Centre in 2021. "We have received around 800 applications till Friday after the process started from Wednesday. There is not much of a difference gender-wise in terms of applications received till now," an official said. "The last date for application is September 6 but it will be extended. The application process for the Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) began on Wednesday. The school is for classes 9-12. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday inaugurated the city's first school which will prepare students for the armed forces. The Shaheed Bhagat Singh Armed Forces Preparatory School at Jharoda Kalan in Najafgarh currently has 175 students. CBSE Class 10 results: Delhi's pass percentage declines this year

Delhi recorded 86.55 per cent pass percentage in Class 10 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams this year, a steep decline from 98.19 per cent in 2021, according to official data. Delhi's pass percentage was 85.86 per cent in 2019 and 80.97 per cent in 2018. The CBSE on Friday announced Class 10 results, which showed that 94.40 per cent of students cleared the exam with girls outperforming boys by a margin of 1.41 per cent. In 2020 and 2021, the results were declared on the basis of a Tabulation Policy in view of the coronavirus pandemic. The exams this year were conducted in two terms. The CBSE has divided the country into 16 regions with Delhi having two -- Delhi East and Delhi West. Of the 16 CBSE regions, Delhi East and Delhi West were ranked at 14th and 15th position with pass percentages of 86.96 per cent and 85.94 per cent respectively below the Noida region, that was at the ninth spot with 96.08 per cent.
