Delhi records 94 new coronavirus cases, six more deaths on Wednesday

The national capital on Wednesday reported 94 fresh coronavirus cases at a positivity rate of 0.12 per cent and six more fatalities, according to a health department bulletin. The recoveries outnumbered fresh Covid cases yet again, with 240 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, it said. Delhi had recorded 101 fresh COVID-19 cases at a positivity rate of 0.15 per cent and four more deaths on Tuesday. With the fresh cases, Delhi's COVID-19 case count increased to 14,34,188 on Wednesday. The death toll from the pandemic stands at 24,977, the bulletin said. The case fatality rate is 1.74 per cent. On Monday, the city had recorded 59 cases, the lowest single-day rise this year, and two deaths. On Sunday, Delhi had reported 89 cases and four deaths while the positivity rate stood at 0.12 per cent. Delhi reports 109 new Covid-19 cases, 8 deaths; positivity rate 0.14%

Delhi recorded eight deaths and 109 fresh cases of coronavirus infection on Thursday as the city's positivity rate dipped to 0.14 per cent, according to data shared by the Health department here. The new fatalities have pushed the death toll due to the disease in the city to 24,948. On Wednesday, Delhi recorded 111 COVID-19 cases and seven fatalities, while the positivity rate stood at 0.15 per cent. On June 14, the city had registered 131 cases and 16 deaths, while on February 22, there were 128 cases of COVID-19, according to official figures. On Monday, Delhi had reported 89 coronavirus cases with a positivity rate of 0.16 per cent, both lowest this year so far, while 11 people died, according to the data. Prepare plan for 100% plastic waste recycling: Delhi environment dept

The Delhi Environment Department has asked all municipal bodies to immediately prepare a time-bound action plan to achieve 100 per cent segregation, recycling and processing of plastic waste. The department has also asked the urban local bodies (ULBs) to develop a 'plastic waste monitoring dashboard' on their websites having information about daily generation, collection, segregation, recycling, processing and disposal to landfills by June 30. Two private hospitals in Delhi to give Sputnik V jabs by end of this week

Apollo Hospitals and Madhukar Rainbow Children's Hospital in Delhi will start administering Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V to people by the end of this week, officials said on Sunday. The Centre has fixed the price of the vaccine at Rs 1,145 per dose. "Apollo Hospitals are going to roll out the vaccine for the general public in Delhi by the end of the week," an official told PTI. An official of Madhukar Rainbow Children's Hospital also said it will start administering Sputnik V jabs within this week. After Covishield and Covaxin, Sputnik V is the third vaccine to be approved by the government for use in India. The maximum price of Covishield for private COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVCs) has been fixed at Rs 780 per dose, while that of Covaxin is Rs 1,410 per dose. Dr Reddy's Laboratories, the marketing partner for the vaccine in the country, has been importing the shots from Russia. Over a period of time, the vaccine is also going to be manufactured in India.
