India logged 1,016 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,46,63,968, while the active cases dipped to 13,187, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The death toll climbed to 5,30,514 with three new fatalities -- two in Maharashtra and one in Rajasthan --being reported in a span of 24 hours, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.78 per cent, according to the ministry website. A decrease of 372 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. India reports 811 new Covid-19 cases, two deaths; active cases at 13,559

India logged 811 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,46,62,952, while the active cases declined to 13,559, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Wednesday. The death toll climbed to 5,30,511 with two fatalities being reported from Maharashtra, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.78 per cent, according to the ministry website. A decrease of 462 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. India records 625 fresh Covid-19 infections, 0 death in last 24 hours

India saw a single-day rise of 625 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest since April 9, 2020, while no death was reported in a span of 24 hours in first such instance since March 2020, the Union health ministry said on Tuesday. The country's infection tally has climbed to 4,46,62,141, while the active cases have declined to 14,021, the ministry data updated at 8 am stated. The death toll has remained at 5,30,509. On April 9, 2020, a total of 540 new cases were reported in a day. No deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours in the first such instance since March 2020. A 76-year-old man from Kalaburagi in Karnataka was the first victim of coronavirus in India. Fire breaks out at Noida factory, no casualty reported; rescue ops underway

A fire broke out at a factory in Noida on Monday morning, prompting rescue and relief measures at the site, police said. No casualty was reported in the fire that erupted in the factory located in Phase 2 industrial area around 9 am, a police official said. "Multiple water tenders were rushed at the spot along with firefighters and efforts are being made to douse the blaze," the official said. The local police are also at the spot to assist in the relief measures, the official added. The cause of the fire and damage to the property were yet to be known.

India's COVID-19 case tally rose by 937 in a day to reach 4,46,61,516, while active cases declined to 14,515, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday. Fire in electrical meter room of high rise building in Thane; no casualty

A major fire broke out in the electrical meter room of a 20-storey residential building in Maharashtra's Thane city on Monday, a civic official said. No one was injured in the blaze which broke out at around 3.30 am in the building located in Balkum area, Thane Municipal Corporation's regional disaster management cell (RDMC) chief Avinash Sawant said. He said 24 out of the total 75 electrical meter boxes installed in the premises were destroyed in the fire. The power supply to the building was cut off immediately after the blaze erupted, he said. A team of local firemen and RDMC rushed to the spot and put out the fire in one-and-a-half hours, the official said. The cause of the fire is still not known, he added.

With 1,190 fresh cases, India's COVID-19 tally has gone up to 4,46,55,828, while the number of active cases of the infection has declined to 16,243, the Union health ministry said on Wednesday. As many as 14 people were injured in a drive-by shooting, including three children, in the city's Garfield Park neighbourhood on Halloween night, Chicago police said. A fire broke out in a plastic factory in Narela Industrial area here on Tuesday, officials said. While three persons were rescued, two-three more are suspected to be trapped in the blaze, according to the fire department. As many as 43 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Maharashtra's Thane district, taking the tally of infections to 7,46,733, a health official said on Tuesday.
