Blind World Cup: Pakistan gets visa clearance, set to compete in India

Decks have been cleared for the Pakistan blind cricket team to take part in the ongoing Blind Cricket World Cup in India after the Union home ministry's visa clearance to 34 players and officials of the neighbouring country. After its nod, the Ministry of External Affairs will issue the Visas to the Pakistani players and officials so that they can travel to India for the December 5-17 tournament. The home ministry has given clearance for issuance of visa to 34 Pakistani players and officials to take part in the Blind Cricket World Cup, a ministry official said. Earlier in the day, the Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) had claimed in a statement that its team could not get clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs in India. This unfortunate incident has left the Pakistan blind cricket team in the lurch, the PBCC had said in a statement. England arrives in Islamabad for first test series in Pakistan since 2005

England's cricket team arrived in Islamabad early Sunday to play its first test series in Pakistan since 2005. Led by Ben Stokes, England will kick off the tour in Rawalpindi -- an adjacent city to Islamabad -- which hosts the first test from next Thursday. The second One-day International between India and New Zealand was abandoned due to persistent rain here on Sunday. New Zealand inserted India to bat after winning the toss but only 12.5 overs could be possible as twice the game had to be stopped due to rain. The game could not resume after the second rain-forced break when India were 89 for one in 12.5 overs. India lost Shikhar Dhawan (3) before Shubman Gill (45) and Suryakumar Yadav (34) added 66 runs for the second wicket. Rain first stopped play when India were 22 for no loss. New Zealand are leading the series 1-0, having won the Auckland ODI by seven wickets. The final match of the series will be played on Wednesday in Christchurch.

India vs NZ: Play resumes but rain-hit match reduced to 29 overs a side

Play resumed in the second ODI between India and New Zealand but the match has been reduced to 29-overs-a-side after a four-hour rain delay, here on Sunday. The match was stopped when India were 22 for no loss in 4.5 overs. As per the changed conditions, there would be just a 10-minute break between the two innings and no drinks break will be taken.

Sri Lanka asks ICC to probe match-fixing allegations during Pak Test series

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday said it has asked the ICC to probe match-fixing allegations concerning the home Test series against Pakistan held in July. Opposition member of parliament Nalin Bandara had alleged match fixing during the drawn series (1-1) played in Galle. The executive committee of SLC decided today to invite Mr Alex Marshall, the General Manager of the ICC anti corruption unit to Sri Lanka to investigate recent allegations of match fixing made by a parliamentarian regarding the recently concluded Pakistan tour," a statement from SLC said. The SLC accused Bandara of tarnishing its reputation by making the allegation.
