India's transformative digital public infrastructure is a "story worth showcasing" and the interest it has generated among developing and developed nations presents a huge opportunity for the Indian tech industry, according to Cisco India and SAARC President Daisy Chittilapilly. Chittilapilly noted that India's digital public infrastructure offered a unique population-scale, low cost, accessible model, and is generating "tremendous amount of interest" from other nations. She cited the success of digital identity Aadhaar and India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI), the real-time payment system where transaction volumes are "mind blowing". 24% of companies surveyed in India ready to defend cybersecurity threats

Just 24 per cent of organisations surveyed in India have the 'mature' level of readiness needed to be resilient against the modern cybersecurity risks, according to a new Cisco study released on Tuesday. US telecom gear maker Cisco's subsidiary Webex India has received a telecom licence from the government that will enable it to provide enterprise grade national and international telecom connectivity.
