Realty major DLF on Monday launched a new housing project, comprising 1,500 plots, in Chennai and expects a sales revenue of Rs 700 crore over the next 18 months. The company will invest around Rs 100 crore to develop infrastructure in this 85 acre new housing project 'Parc Estate', located off the Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai. "We are very excited and buoyant about opportunities and development potential in South India property market," DLF Group Executive Director Aakash Ohri told PTI. In this 85 acre project, he said the company will develop 1,500 plots, having 2.15 million square feet area, over the next 18 months. It is offering plots in sizes ranging from 600 to 4,000 square feet. The company will sell 750 plots in the first phase in a price bracket of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 1.25 crore, he added. Murukesan and others, the ED said, were first booked in 2013 by the CBI on charges of criminal conspiracy for "inducing, by corrupt or illegal means, the officials of DCI to recommend grant of permission to start Asan Memorial Dental College & Hospital and Adiparasakthi Dental College & Hospital." Heavy to very heavy rains pounded Chennai and the suburbs on Thursday, inundating roads and subways and three persons were killed in rain-related incidents here. Three persons (two women and a boy) died of electrocution here, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, KKSSR Ramachandran said. It was a repeat of scenes witnessed here last month as motorists struggled to manoeuvre their vehicles on flooded roads and subways while showers led to traffic congestion in the city and suburbs. The intense spell may turn out to be one of the heaviest witnessed in recent years, while police said three subways were closed and in view of inundation and traffic moved at a snail's pace in at least 14 arterial city thoroughfares.
