The Indian unit of German auto component maker, Bosch, is working on technologies that would allow vehicles to meet the the BS-VI emission standards to the country. While the technology is available in Europe, the company feels there is a huge challenge bring in lower emission standards to Indian driving conditions. Bharat Stage or BS emission standards has been established by the Indian Government to keep a check the air pollutants coming out of motor vehicles. India has for several years been criticised for not keeping a check of the air pollutants at the source.
