The BJP on Friday announced its "commitment" to regularise weekly markets of street vendors and hawkers, hours before the culmination of campaigning for civic polls. Delhi BJP on Friday alleged a Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violation by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here and lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission. The alleged MCC violation took place at an event attended by Kejriwal in the Constitution Club. A case should be registered against Kejriwal for violating MCC, Ashish Sood, Delhi BJP's election campaign committee convener, said. BJP demands FIR against Nitish, Tejashwi for violating code of conduct

The BJP on Thursday demanded that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, senior ministers and top government officials be booked for alleged violation of model code of conduct in force in the state in view of urban local body polls. The State Election Commission (SEC) on Wednesday announced December 18 and 28 as the new dates for municipal polls, which were initially to be held in October, but got postponed following a Patna High Court order. MP govt to form new committee for implementation of Uniform Civil Code

The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh announced on Thursday that a committee will be formed for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code in the state. Some other BJP-ruled states including Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh have made similar announcements in the recent months. Time has come for the implementation of the Common (Uniform) Civil Code in India," Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said at a function here. "Why does a man marry more than once? The BJP alleged on Thursday that Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and 35 others who are being probed in connection with the excise policy scam, destroyed 170 mobile phones to cover up evidence. BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia claimed that the personal assistant of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal changed four handsets in a short span of time. Ahead of the December 4 municipal polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday claimed the BJP has deployed 17 Union ministers to fight an 'aam aadmi' like him and said this was done to cover up the party's "inefficiency" during its tenure in the civic body.
