Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders on Monday for "speaking against English", saying they oppose the use of English as a teaching medium in schools but their children study in such schools. Lauding the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan for opening 1,700 English medium schools and recruiting 10,000 English teachers, Gandhi said studying Hindi and other Indian languages is important but in order to talk to the world, Hindi will not be useful and command over English will be required. The BJP on Monday slammed the Congress over the presence of Jagdish Tytler in a party meeting regarding the preparations for the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Govt will face trouble if demands not met: Farmers at 'Kisan Garjana' rally

An RSS-affiliated farmers' body held a 'Kisan Garjana' rally at Ramleela Ground here on Monday and warned that the states and the BJP-led central government will face trouble if their demands are not met in time. Thousands of farmers from several states, including Punjab, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, reached Delhi on tractors, motorcycles and buses braving extreme cold to take part in the rally organised by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS).
