German luxury carmaker Audi on Tuesday said it will increase prices of its entire model range by up to 2.4 per cent next month. The price hike is a result of rising input and supply chain costs and will come into effect from September 20, 2022, the automaker said in a statement. With rising input and supply chain costs, we are required to take a price hike of up to 2.4 per cent across our model range," Audi India Head Balbir Singh Dhillon said. Audi India sells petrol models A4, A6, A8 L, Q5, Q7, Q8, S5 Sportback, RS 5 Sportback and RS Q8. The electric vehicle portfolio under the e-tron brand comprises the e-tron 50, e-tron 55, e-tron Sportback 55, e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT. The company recently opened online bookings for Q3 in India.
The prices of all electric vehicles (EVs) will be equal to the cost of petrol vehicles in the country within one year, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Friday. Gadkari further said the government is promoting ethanol produced from crop residue instead of petrol and diesel. "I am trying...within one year, the cost of electric vehicles will be equivalent to the cost of petrol vehicles in the country and we will save money spent on fossil fuels," he said while addressing 'TV9 What India Think Today Global Summit'. The minister said the government is already promoting green fuels in a big way. Gadkari noted that waterways us a cheaper mode of transportation than road and it is going to come up in a big way.
The plant will start production in December 2024 and have the capacity to manufacture 150,000 cars a year, according to the regulator
ABB India on Monday announced that it has partnered with Audi India to provide charging solutions for their newly launched, fully electric Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback. "To ensure a premium charging customer experience, the newly launched Audi etron and Audi e-tron Sportaback are offered with ABB's smart Terra AC wallbox charger along with the car to its customers for smart charging at home," ABB India said in a statement. According to the statement, the Terra AC wallbox charger is capable of delivering 11 kW power to the Audi e-tron and complies with all safety standards and necessary certifications. "In line with making the global best in class charging technology available in India, we are pleased to offer our smart EV chargers for Audi India for their fully electric vehicle in India," Kiran Dutt, President - Electrification business, ABB India, said. Dutt further added, "we offer a range of AC as well as DC fast-charging solutions for EVs along with seamless back-end .
