Spilling the tea with Satvir Singh and Nitin Tomar, the founders of a 24.5 crore turnover tea-cafe brand, Chaiops
.
Sitting beside the window, relishing the beautiful rains with a cup of tea, or chatting with friends over the latest movie while sipping on tea or listening to your parents’ stories with steaming cups of tea- what is common in all these things? It is tea. Or as we Indians love to call it Chai.
Tea is not just any other beverage for the Indians. From 8 to 80, it is hard to find a single person who is not a chai lover. And here comes two chai lovers, two young Indian entrepreneurs who thought of making chai our bae.
Satvir Singh and Nitin Tomar, two energetic souls changed the tea industry in just 5 years. They wanted to bring freshness and give a whole new dimension to tea lovers in India. Undoubtedly, tea is the most popular beverage and they thought of giving a twist to the drink of India. Combining taste and health together, Satvir and Nitin founded Chaiops- the first ever tea-café
A unique experience for tea lovers across India, Chaiops aims to provide their customers with the taste of tea that is unparallel. The duo wishes to bring on the finest quality of tea along with a delectable taste, that will rejuvenate every tea lover’s soul. Chaiops cafe serves teas of different flavors and of premium quality to the tea-addicted nation and gave a new place to the millennials to hang out.
But how did this innovative idea hit upon Satvir? A tea-lover himself, Satvir drank 8-10 cups of tea every day during his on-field assignments. A post-graduate from Delhi University, Satvir belonged to a poor family. But his ambition was to do something big and innovative. While sipping on those cups of tea, he realized that the unique taste and flavor of tea are lacking. That is when he brewed the idea of creating a tea brand that would satiate the taste of every tea lover.
His vision was to create a tea blend that would retain the authentic taste of tea and people would get to experience the finest quality of tea in every corner of the world. Chaiops is the brainchild of Satvir Singh & Nitin Tomar who put intense hard work and research behind it.
However, the path to achieving his dream of opening a chain of Chaiops tea cafes was not so smooth. The biggest obstacle between Satvir and his dream was money. He had immense faith in his dream and with that, he approached Nitin Tomar. Nitin who was working at Ola Cabs was in love with the idea of a tea cafe.
When Nitin was unable to fetch any investment for Chaiops, he sold his car and paved the way for Chaiops. The pathbreaking moment came for the duo when they opened the first Chaiops cafe in Gurugram, Haryana.
From flavorful teas like Rose, Cardamom, Ginger, Paan, and Strawberry to Chocolate, it is indeed a heaven for every tea lover. Apart from giving the customers their desired tastes, the tea also has added health benefits. Customers not only get an opportunity to experience the flavored teas only at the cafes. But they can create their own sachets and sip them later in the comfort of their home.
Truly, Chaiops is India’s fastest-growing tea brand. In 2020, despite the pandemic Chaiops sold 1 lac teacups every day. The next year also proved to be a great success for the brand as the sale doubled. Selling over 5 lac cups of tea every day presently, Chaiops is expected to grow bigger and better.
With a current market value of INR 22-24.5 crores, by 2022-23 Chaiops has the potential to reach the market value of INR 70 crore. The tea of Chaiops is not just brewing with 50 plus cafes in India but in Bangladesh and Nepal as well. But soon, Chaiops will make its grand debut in international countries like Canada, the UK, the US, Abu Dhabi, and other middle eastern countries.
It is time to spill some chai with Chaiops’ exceptional taste and flavor and fall in love with chai once again.
