Rishabh Pant has been awarded the player of the match for his scintillating innings of 125 off 113 balls. He along with Hardik Pandya added 135 for the fifth wicket and got India close to victory.

Though he was not given the player of the match award for his brilliant all-round showing of 4-24 with the ball and 71 with the bat, Hardik Pandya was given the player of the series award for his brilliant showing in the entire series.

The toss between India skipper Rohit Sharma and England captain Jos Buttler was won by the former who decided to bowl first at Old Trafford, Manchester.
