Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 1.63%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 1.63% at 2771.35 today. The index has added 15.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Indian Overseas Bank jumped 3.46%, Central Bank of India rose 3.05% and Canara Bank added 2.96%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has increased 16.00% over last one year compared to the 6.23% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index increased 1.19% and Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.17% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.51% to close at 16605.25 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.51% to close at 55681.95 today.
