Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index rises 2.33%

Nifty Pharma index closed up 2.33% at 12628.95 today. The index is up 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Laurus Labs Ltd gained 6.14%, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd jumped 4.02% and Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd rose 3.04%. The Nifty Pharma index is down 10.00% over last one year compared to the 5.69% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index added 2.12% and Nifty PSU Bank index increased 2.01% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.96% to close at 16641.8 while the SENSEX added 0.99% to close at 55816.32 today.
