Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 3.79%

Nifty Metal index ended up 3.79% at 4842.2 today. The index has lost 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd jumped 6.18%, Hindalco Industries Ltd gained 6.07% and National Aluminium Company Ltd rose 5.25%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 8.00% over last one year compared to the 1.59% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index increased 3.42% and Nifty Realty index increased 2.62% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.89% to close at 16132.9 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.80% to close at 54178.46 today.
