Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index records a surge of 1.29%

Nifty Metal index ended up 1.29% at 5668 today. The index has added 18.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Copper Ltd jumped 6.63%, Adani Enterprises Ltd rose 3.47% and Jindal Stainless Ltd gained 2.96%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 3.00% over last one year compared to the 7.93% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index increased 1.23% and Nifty Energy index gained 1.17% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.73% to close at 17525.1 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.80% to close at 58853.07 today.
