Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 5.24%, NIFTY Crashes 2.11%

Nifty Metal index closed down 5.24% at 4721.3 today. The index has slipped 18.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd dropped 8.20%, Welspun Corp Ltd fell 6.30% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd shed 6.28%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 9.00% over last one year compared to the 2.58% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Commodities index has dropped 3.43% and Nifty PSE index has slid 3.34% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 2.11% to close at 15360.6 while the SENSEX has slid 1.99% to close at 51495.79 today.
