Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index declines 4.12%, NIFTY Tumbles 2.64%

Nifty IT index ended down 4.12% at 27914.6 today. The index is down 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mindtree Ltd slipped 5.89%, L&T Technology Services Ltd shed 5.75% and Mphasis Ltd dropped 5.69%. The Nifty IT index is down 1.00% over last one year compared to the 0.16% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index is down 3.97% and Nifty Metal index is down 3.85% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 2.64% to close at 15774.4 while the SENSEX is down 2.68% to close at 52846.7 today.
