Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index records a surge of 3.27%, NIFTY climbs 1.06%

Nifty Auto index ended up 3.27% at 12953.65 today. The index has added 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Tata Motors Ltd jumped 6.58%, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd added 6.29% and Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd rose 4.90%. The Nifty Auto index has increased 29.00% over last one year compared to the 10.00% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index increased 2.80% and Nifty Media index increased 2.30% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.06% to close at 17340.05 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.95% to close at 58115.5 today.
