Among the components of the S&P BSE Capital Goods index, Timken India Ltd (down 2.58%), Bharat Forge Ltd (down 2.23%),AIA Engineering Ltd (down 2.18%),Carborundum Universal Ltd (down 1.99%),ABB India Ltd (down 1.32%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Schaeffler India Ltd (down 1.26%), Praj Industries Ltd (down 1.09%), Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (down 0.71%), SKF India Ltd (down 0.68%), and Bharat Electronics Ltd (down 0.41%).
On the other hand, Finolex Cables Ltd (up 5.33%), Thermax Ltd (up 2.57%), and Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd (up 1.29%) moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 369.61 or 0.67% at 55750.78.
The Nifty 50 index was up 81.75 points or 0.49% at 16604.5.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 114.1 points or 0.43% at 26648.63.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 0.82 points or 0.01% at 8184.64.
On BSE,1833 shares were trading in green, 1391 were trading in red and 138 were unchanged.
