Auto shares fall

Auto stocks were trading in the negative zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index falling 264.54 points or 1% at 26124.26 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (down 3.36%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (down 2.38%),Tata Motors Ltd (down 1.71%),Eicher Motors Ltd (down 1.6%),MRF Ltd (down 1.22%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Bajaj Auto Ltd (down 0.98%), Tube Investments of India Ltd (down 0.95%), Sundram Fasteners Ltd (down 0.57%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (down 0.5%), and TVS Motor Company Ltd (down 0.46%).

On the other hand, Escorts Ltd (up 1.04%), Bosch Ltd (up 0.96%), and Ashok Leyland Ltd (up 0.11%) moved up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 369.61 or 0.67% at 55750.78.

The Nifty 50 index was up 81.75 points or 0.49% at 16604.5.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 114.1 points or 0.43% at 26648.63.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 0.82 points or 0.01% at 8184.64.

On BSE,1833 shares were trading in green, 1391 were trading in red and 138 were unchanged.
