Latest news LIVE: SC terminates CoA panel running AIFF over FIFA suspension

The Supreme Court on Monday terminated the Committee of Administrators (CoA), the panel appointed by the apex court last year to run the All India Football Federation (AIFF), a week after the Federation of International Football (FIFA) suspended the AIFF. The SC added that it hopes the termination of CoA will help facilitate the revocation of FIFA's ban on the AIFF. 

Scores of farmers are protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on Monday against several issues, including unemployment, and pending demands. The Delhi Police has increased security at the Ghazipur, Singhu, and Tikri borders due to the 'mahapanchayat' called by farmer bodies. Earlier in the day, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, on his way to Jantar Mantar, was detained by police personnel at the Ghazipur border and was then taken to Madhu Vihar police station.

India on Monday reported 9,531 new Covid cases, taking the nation's coronavirus caseload to 44,348,960. With 39 new deaths, including 10 reconciled by Kerala, India's toll from Covid-19 has reached 527,368. The nation's tally of cured Covid cases now stands at 43,723,944  after 11,726 people recovered from the coronavirus infection. 

Top executives of the Indian arms of Apple, Google, Amazon, Netflix, and Microsoft will on Tuesday depose before a parliamentary panel looking into anti-competitive practices in the digital space, the committee's chairman Jayant Sinha said. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance has been looking into various aspects of competition in the marketplace, especially concerning technology majors.
