Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor is exploring the possibility of running for the post of party president though he is yet to take a final call on it, reported PTI quoting sources. They said Tharorr has not made up his mind but could take a call on it soon. While Tharoor declined to comment on whether he would throw his hat into the ring, he has written an article for the Malayalam daily Mathrubhumi in which he called for a "free and fair" election. In the article, he said ideally the party should have announced elections also for the dozen seats on the CWC itself which are supposed to be elected.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) on Monday set the tone for the future during its 45th annual general meeting, saying it would aim to double its market value by 2027, the year the company celebrates its golden jubilee. The company will invest Rs 2 trillion in the roll-out of a standalone 5G network, Rs 75,000 crore in expanding its O2C (oil-to-chemicals) capacities across value chains, and Rs 75,000 crore in new energy as announced last year, RIL Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said at the shareholders’ meeting.

Sri Lanka's Ministry of Power and Energy has said that 24 companies from 10 countries, including India have evinced interest in selling petroleum products in the crisis-hit country's petroleum sector, according to media reports. Lanka's Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said that 24 companies from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the US, China, India, Russia, the UK, Malaysia, Norway, and the Philippines have submitted proposals for the Expressions of Interest (EOI) to engage in the country's petroleum sector.
