Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 16 was named as the National Democratic Alliance candidate for Vice-President by the Bharatiya Janata Party President Jagat Prakash Nadda. He was formally the Governor of West Bengal and is now all set to succeed Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu.

Dhankhar was born on May 18, 1951, in a small village named Kithana in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu. He did his schooling at Sainik School in Chittorgarh. After that he completed his primary and middle school education at Kithana Government School and Ghardhana Government School, respectively
