Mumbai's daily Covid count remains above 400; 2 die, active tally at 2,235

Mumbai on Thursday logged 410 new coronavirus cases, while two more patients succumbed to the infection in the city, the local civic body said. With these additions, the overall tally of COVID-19 cases rose to 11,26,150, while the death toll increased to 19,654, said the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a bulletin. The city has reported 24 less cases compared to Wednesday, but logged more than 400 COVID-19 infections for the second day in a row. A day before, Mumbai had witnessed 434 COVID-19 cases and one death. As per the bulletin, the new COVID-19 cases were detected after 9,691 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, pushing up their cumulative count to 1,78,62,485. A day ago, 10,725 swab samples were examined for detection of COVID-19. Mumbai's tally of recuperated patients rose to 11,04,261 after 279 more people recovered from the infection, said the bulletin. The city has a recovery rate of 98.1 per cent and it now left with 2,235 active COVID-19 cases, it .

Property registrations rise 15% in Mumbai municipal area in July

Registration of properties in Mumbai's municipal area grew 15 per cent to 11,339 units in July on better demand, according to Knight Frank India. It is also the highest level for the month of July in a decade. Out of the total registration of properties in Mumbai city (BMC area), Knight Frank India said that 86 per cent were contributed by residential segment and 10 per cent commercial. For July, the data has been collated till 3 pm of July 30. The registration contributed over Rs 829 crore to the state revenues. "The number of units registered in July 2022 was the best in a decade for the month of July," property consultant Knight Frank said in a statement. In July 2021, 9,822 units were registered. "With the looming inflation pressures, RBI opted for a cumulative repo rate hike of 90 basis points that has stretched home buyer affordability. Godrej Properties buys land parcel in Mumbai for its luxury housing project

Real estate firm Godrej Properties on Monday said it has acquired 0.5 acres of land in Mumbai to develop a luxury housing project with an estimated sales value of Rs 1,200 crore. In a regulatory filing, the company informed that it has bought a land parcel to develop a luxury project near Carmichael Road in Mumbai. The land parcel, spread across 0.5 acres, was purchased from the Karam Chand Thapar (KCT) group. The new project will have an estimated booking value potential of approximately Rs 1,200 crore, the company said. "The demand for luxury realty has been strong over the past few years and this location affords us the opportunity to create a landmark boutique luxury residential development," said Mohit Malhotra, MD & CEO, Godrej Properties.
